Sometime before midnight on February 13th, I met the Odd Squad for some leveling up. The Adventurer's Tournament was close enough that I didn't want to waste time on anything other than that. At that moment we all had stopped for a bit for food, Lolidragon was doing the cooking and she was starting to pass it around, but she kept stopping every once in a while to check something. I was sitting with "Julie-ass-toes," which I figured was better than him sitting with Xiao Lan, since we could only sit two to a log.
After a while Lolidragon finally came to me, paused, then gave me 2 bowls of food.
"Pass the other to Gui."
I heard a *Ding!* and a system notice popped up, but I passed the extra bowl to Gui first.

"Mmmmm curry~" said the bard and started eating daintily.

<System Notice: Today is now Valentines Day players! And to celebrate Second Life has put a special effect in place for Valentines Day, when one player declares his/her love for another player and the other player accepts, those two become a couple and cannot leave each other for the remainder of the day [Log-offs permitted only for external interference].>*Ding*
<System Notice: Guileastos has accepted Player Wicked's love. Players are now a couple.>

Both Gui and I stopped eating. I looked over at him with the same expression he had: shock.

A giant heart popped up behind us. What the heck

Once the heart appeared everyone else clued in, one of the features of being an official couple I suppose. Lolidragon started giggling madly. Doll began admiring the heart and tried to pose in front of it, which didn't really work since I think it was attached to us. Ugly Wolf was silent, mostly in thought. Yulian was practically worshiping Ugly Wolf.  Xiao Lan was in shock at first but came over to say (somewhat sadly I might add), "I never knew, but I support-"

"NO!" Gui and I shouted at the same time. Xiao Lan jumped back in surprise.

"What I mean to say is, that, I never 'declared' my love for Gui. How could I when I didn't say anything after the notice?"

"And I certainly wouldn't choose Wicked over you, Your Highness~" [I internally rolled my eyes at this point]

"Maybe the rules say something about this." Pondered Ugly Wolf out loud and then proceeded to check the 'fine print' of the Valentines Day notice.

" 'Although most declarations are verbal, they can also be made through gifts such as weapons, armor, food, flowers, pets, and certain types of healing magic, among other things. As long as the player receiving the gift doesn't return or reject it, it is considered a mutual feeling of love and the two become a couple.'"

Everyone was silent, except Lolidragon who laughed even harder when she heard Ugly Wolf read out the lines.

Xiao Lan's face was scrunched up in thought, "So...it was the curry?"

*****

"Ugh! I would never eat curry again if it meant I could log-off sooner!"

Everyone else had logged-off and left us, at about 6 or so in the morning, because they had work or something else (making excuses I think). I begged Xiao Lan (via PM) to phone my house to help me log-off, but she said it would have to wait a bit because "I have to feed that no-good brother of mine."

"If only his most noble Highness and not you had given me the bowl, I would be in a much happier mood."

I shut up then. Although I also would have enjoyed this situation a lot more with "Prince," there were worse things than Gui and I being an 'official' couple.

So since everyone else was gone, we wandered around town. I didn't trust that I could fight properly in close proximity to that idiot bard. We got a lot of looks, mostly from fan-girls. Like so:

[Insert largely dramatic sigh here] "They are so good-looking, so bishie~ They fit each other perfectly."

That was the general census, that we looked good together, which made me want to correct everyone we met! Especially when Gui didn't seem to mind as much as I did, since he was waving and blowing kisses! At one point he even made a move to kiss my hand, in front of a whole group of drooling fan-girls, but I evaded that smoothly and sliced his hand in revenge. Instead of being disappointed the girls got more excited ("Ooooo! A lovers quarrel~") and just made me more irritated.

<System Notice: Because of external interference, we must log-off player Wicked>

Xiao Lan's wake-up call couldn't have come soon enough.
This won't make any sense if you haven't read 1/2 Prince.

GO READ IT!

This is a fan-fic I wrote for Prince Revolution's "Great ½ Prince Valentine’s Day Fanfic Scramble"
